i thoughts on spring in my step?
o assuming we're talking about the stock music library song i found when i just looked this up, HELLA ubiquitous

i ∅ or Ø?
o special characters like this feel like a compatibility nightmare, and i'm kinda doubtful that they're gonna show up properly on the website. so uhhh how about 0?

i if you could only do one art medium for the rest of your life, what would you do
o animated (and/or filmed) musicals!!

i the main thing i was thinking was intentionally leaning in to the inherently hallucinatory nature of these technologies. perhaps to make surreal art that actually feels like a dream instead of being beholden to symbolism,
o i feel like some damn interesting art has come out of humans attempting to approximate dream-like or hallucinatory states. it's interesting to see machines trip out, but it feels a bit predictable and meaningless
i or to analyze the collective thoughts of humanity (with no filter or censorship),
o i don't think there's a single "collective", i think everyone has some insanely different and unique thoughts. so i think the best way to learn more about those thoughts is to start meeting and talking to people instead of trying to summarise everything
i or to see what happens when you pre-train an LLM on a very limited corpus like, say, the complete works of Shakespeare (and nothing else), et cetera. and this would be more like early generative AI that worked more like predictive typing or something of that sort and not so much a chatbot that people use like a life-calculator or ersatz-friend, as that's what corporate AI is already doing anyway. in my humble hot take, a world with custom AI would fulfill how generative AI should've been being used this whole time, and corporations turning AI into a chatbot and taking its outputs too seriously and getting worried about alignment and safety pretty much ruined it. generative AI's true purpose is to hallucinate. (although there is a danger that, for example, people use custom AIs as pocket echo chambers to come up with arguments or interpret the news and dig themselves deeper into ideological holes, or that some government institutes a local AI that they own as its leader)
o is the human brain not the ultimate hallucinator? our entire experience of reality is conjured up based on a few electrical signals to the brain, so our brains are oh so uniquely equiped to make up some WEIRDDDD shit. i've got nothing against other people using LLMs to make their weird shit (though it makes me sad that people don't recognise how weird their own brains most definitely are (and the echo chamber concerns are very very real)), but again..... for myself, i get worried about offloading my "weird shit generator" skill onto something else. pretending to have no grip on reality is just too much fun, but then again nnnOOPS it'''''''ss [[possibly?]] {actually,}

i BMO from adventure time </3 in the show she was created by Mo, this dude who makes a bunch of robots for various purposes. BMO is different from other Mo robots cause she can think for herself and feel emotions. not all of the robots can do that, but BMO is different cause she has a higher level of awareness than the others. howeverrrr it can be argued that since she was created to feel emotions, are they really hers????? i think she's above clanker status cause throughout the show she exhibits a level of understanding of human emotion far exceeding her original programming. she learns and grows like humans do.
o that sounds like it's over the line into real consciousness. it's impossible to be totally certain, but how can i be certain that any person other than me is conscious? i can't, just like i can't prove to anyone else that i'm conscious. at a certain point the ol "if it quacks like a duck, etc" becomes the only way to get anywhere, so yeah, i'd say the robot sounds conscious. the real trouble is figuring out exactly how much quacking is enough quacking to accurately infer duck status (quack quack)

i is BMO a clanker? or does her ability to express love and human emotions exclude her from clanked status
o i have no idea who that is if not.... a bank, but i guess it just depends on if there's actual consciousness going on. if so, how is that any different from a slightly more metalic version of our fleshy brains? though of course, that leads to the trillion dollar question: how the hell does one decide if something/someone else is conscious????? if someone's figured that one out please let me know (consciously)

i okay so hear me out: what if there were a cost-effective way for the average person to freely or cheaply build, pre-train, and fine-tune their very own personal custom-made generative AI (as opposed to having to use an AI that someone else made at some company)? could this plausibly happen? should it happen?
o i can't speak to the plausibility, but i'm not convinced that it'd be smart. because ultimately, how would this differ from either 1) a stronger, more capable version of your own brain, or 2) stronger interpersonal connections? like i dunno, generative AI definitely has its uses, but i get nervous about offloading my thinking/communication skills onto something without any skin in the Being A Conscious Entity game

i The fundamental forces: gravity, electromagnetism, the strong force, the weak force...
the mind?
(the Pauli exclusion principle?) (dark energy?)
o it's been a hot minute since i've really immersed myself in this stuff, but are we totally sure that gravity is on that list? i coulda sworn there were some big issues describing einstein's ideas of gravity with quantum mechanics, but i might be way off there. and i don't know anything about the pauli exclusion principle, but in terms of the mind (consciousnesss) and dark energy..... i don't think either is well understood by anyone, so fuck it, maybe
